What inspired me to become an author?
From the moment I could hold a pen in my hand, I was writing on anything I could find. My parents watched as my cheeky tendency to scribble in books transformed into a strong passion for writing at a very young age. My vast imagination led me to write countless stories in and outside of school.
Overtime, my passion for writing took a backseat as I developed other interests over the years. However, as life experiences took priority and my knowledge-base increased, I knew that whatever I would end up writing should be of applicable value tp others.
The year 2024 was a year of complete transformation for me and certain experiences catalysed my decision to turn my dream of being an author into a reality.
Although I've now written and published my first book and journal, I still enjoy the thrill that comes with getting my thoughts down on paper. So I continue to exercise my writing muscles by keeping up with my weekly blogs.
What does authenticity mean to me?
To me, authenticity is the difference between life and death. It may sound extreme, but I think of it like this: if you aren’t being yourself, then you aren’t living on purpose. And a life without purpose is like a slow, painful death.
I also strongly believe that being authentic is the greatest expression of self-love there is. There is no stronger love than having the courage to protect who you are at your core no matter the circumstance.
That is why I entitled my book, “Be You: Your Life Depends On It”. It is the motto I endeavour to live by forever and ever and always.
