Let it go

"Sometimes you've just got to let it go." - SKBF

There's always going to be something that catches us off-guard. Something that offends us, irritates us or interrupts our day. It's inevitable!

But, as functioning people trying to get through this life, we can't react to EVERYTHING...ALL the time. That would just be emotionally exhausting and unproductive. And we'd probably come across as a toddler having a tantrum.

This is where emotional intelligence comes in. Your ability to intuitively handle your own emotions in different situations is key. It allows you to gracefully move past setbacks, mistakes of others, and other inconveniences without losing your cool.

When you really think about it, most of the little things that have gotten you uptight over the past few weeks, you probably can't even remember what they were! Yet, in those moments, the intense wave of emotion makes us fixate on a single inconvenience , rather than the bigger picture.

Being rational and emotionally mature enough to keep the bigger in mind in the face of difficulties makes you a powerful force to be reckoned with. Instead of reacting like potassium in water, you remain nonreactive like gold and maintain your precious character (ha, I love science 😅).

Don't let external circumstances control your reactions. Know when to let things go. Walking away from a situation doesn't make you a coward if you are prioritising your emotional and mental health.

Remain steadfast in your mission of self-improvement and maintain your good character 💛
